Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to help as a volunteer, learn
about the work of the Charity shop, or just look around the building. We’d
love to see you.

Sally Ann’s, the Salvation Army charity shop, is located on a prominent site
on Mill Road, and has been there for twenty five years in premises that were previously
a supermarket, and before that, a cinema.
Its purpose is primarily for fund raising, supporting the community centre further
along the road, and the Citadel, in Tenison Road.
|
|
|
It is one of the largest charity shops in the region and sells a wide range of furniture,
including soft furnishings and wooden items such as wardrobes and tables, general
bric a brac, and clothing, all donated by residents of Cambridge and surrounding
areas. The furniture is collected free of charge on a daily basis by our van, easily
recognised and well-known throughout the region. The shop also offers a delivery
service.
|
|
All in all, it provides employment for five paid members of staff, and over sixty
volunteers who offer a service to the general public, the city council and social
services, landlords and landladies and those less fortunate who need assistance
with clothing and/or furniture. It is open six days a week, shutting at lunch time
on a Saturday.
